NOW OPEN SATURDAYS THROUGH OCTOBER

LAKE SAINT LOUIS, Mo.-The Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market (formerly the O’Fallon Farmers & Artists Market) celebrated its Opening Day on April 14 at The Meadows shopping center.   The season-long market will operate on Saturdays from 8am-noon through mid-October at The Meadows in the south lots by the fountain.

The Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market is St. Charles County’s only producer-only market. The market only sells goods that are produced by the vendors themselves within a 100-mile radius of the market.   On Opening Day the market brings the goods of more than 20 local growers, food-producers, bakers and artisans directly to the community.   That number will increase to upwards of 50 throughout the summer as the season’s crops peak.

“We are excited that the Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market has chosen The Meadows as its 2012 season location,” says Bridget Geiss, Marketing Director of The Meadows.  “The market brings area residents a convenient way to access locally-grown and produced items which benefits the entire community.  We invite everyone to meet us at The Meadows on Saturdays throughout market season to enjoy the goods local farmers and artisans have to offer.”

ABOUT THE LAKE SAINT LOUIS FARMERS & ARTISTS MARKET

The Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market was established in 2009 by a group of St. Charles County volunteer citizens who wanted to bring fresh, local produce and hand-crafted goods to the people of St. Charles County.   Formerly known as the O’Fallon Farmers & Artists Market, the organization gained non-profit 510c4 status in 2011.   The market began with a handful of vendors at the TR Hughes Ballpark and grew in size in just a few short years.  In 2012, the market was renamed and relocated to The Meadows shopping center at Highway 40 & Lake Saint Louis Blvd.   The market operates every Saturday from 8am-noon from mid-April through mid-October, rain or shine.  The Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market is the area’s only producer-only farmers market in St. Charles County.  In addition to operating the market, the organization also offers educational opportunities in local food, art, gardening, growing and health.
