Operation Food Search to Host “Empty Bowls” Fund-Raiser at
The Meadows at Lake St. Louis to Benefit New Wentzville Branch
LAKE SAINT LOUIS, MO — Operation Food Search is partnering with The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis to host an Empty Bowls charity event Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  One-of-a-kind ceramic bowls created by local artists, teachers and students will be offered for sale at the fund-raiser, with proceeds benefitting the food bank’s new Wentzville food distribution center.  Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search has been conducting Empty Bowl events across metro St. Louis for more than a decade.
In addition to food and live music, the event at The Meadows will feature a pottery demonstration by noted St. Charles ceramist Bob Allen of the Foundry Art Centre from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Through a network of approximately 300 community agencies including emergency food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens, Operation Food Search helps feed 120,000 people each month.  Nearly half of those it helps are children.  The organization distributes food from facilities in University City and Wentzville.  Operation Food Search also offers nutrition education to low-income adults and children.  To learn more, visit www.ofsearch.org.
