The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis Celebrates Its
One-Year Anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 29 with 5-9:30 p.m. Gala
 
ST. LOUIS – Davis Street Land Company is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the first outdoor lifestyle center developed in St. Charles County – The Meadows at Lake Saint Louis. On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, Davis Street will host a 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. family gala amid The Meadows’ charming streetscapes, central plaza and wide array of distinctive luxury retailers and restaurants.  The first phase of The Meadows includes 32 retailers and restaurants, including Backwoods outdoors goods and clothing which will celebrate the opening of its only Missouri store as part of the August 29, 2009 one-year anniversary festivities.  Meanwhile, Von Maur Department Store is advancing construction and is slated to open its first Missouri store in September 2010.
Located on a 64-acre site at Highway 40 & Lake Saint Louis Boulevard, the festive anniversary evening will herald the year-old landmark with:
• Two concerts by local bands, Hudson & The Hoo Doo Cats and The Charles Glenn Band;
• A hot air balloon glow;
• A caricature artist;
• Balloon artists and face painters;
• The “Taste of The Meadows Culinary Showcase;”
• A display by the Lake Saint Louis Fire Protection District & Police Department.
Celebrating the Shopping Experience 
The celebration will invite people to experience the timeless charm of The Meadows with its ornamented four retail buildings, totaling 260,000 square feet, clustered around an inviting central plaza with seating and performance spaces.  A 15-foot tall bronze sculpture by local artist Marty Linson stands at the plaza’s center.  A 40-foot-tall clock tower marks the octagonal-shaped plaza.  A pergola with a redwood trellis forms the backdrop for a stage.  Four 12-foot-high stone columns topped with limestone planters mark gateways to the plaza.
